The land around Boscastle is owned by the National Trust and is a typically beautiful Cornish harbour that is well know for its flood that occurred on Monday, 16 August 2004.The village suffered extensive damage after flash floods caused by an exceptional amount of rain that fell over eight hours that afternoon.

Boscastle lies within 5 miles from Tintagel, famous for the King Arthur legend and is amongst some of the most beautiful countryside within the British Isles. Boscastle is one of the few remaining unspoilt harbour villages in Cornwall. Designated an Area of Outstanding beauty, the National Trust own and care for the beautiful medieval harbour and surrounding coastline.
